What is marble?
 
Marble is a rock resulting from metamorphism of limestone or dolomite rock. Marble is a non-foliated metamorphic rock composed of recrystallized carbonate minerals, most commonly calcite or dolomite.When limestone is heated and has pressure put on it, its calcite is melted. Larger crystals are formed and this is marble. Finally limestone decides the final color of the marble. If limestone is pure, we get a white marble. If it has hematite or clay in it, we will get a reddish color marble.The resulting marble rock is typically composed of an interlocking mosaic of carbonate crystals.
